ADAN Y EVA SOMOS TODOS NOSOTROS.

“Mas Jehová Dios llamó al hombre, y le dijo: ¿Dónde estás tú? Y él respondió: Oí tu voz en el huerto, y tuve miedo, porque estaba desnudo; y me escondí. Y Dios le dijo: ¿Quién te enseñó que estabas desnudo? ¿Has comido del árbol del que yo te mandé no comieses?” Génesis 3.9-11

ANALISIS

Este pasaje Bíblico es la representación del proceso del pecado en cada ser humano. Más allá de entrar en la discusión de si existieron o no, de si es una alegoría o no, debemos llevar el texto a una aplicación práctica y útil a nuestras vidas.

Hemos creído erróneamente que nuestro pecado es una herencia de Adán y Evan, y lo usamos inconscientemente como un consuelo absurdo, y una excusa para culpar a otros de nuestros errores y fallos y de desviar nuestra propia responsabilidad. Es casi una conducta religiosa y a veces hipócrita, porque la verdad es que Adán y Evan somos todos nosotros.

Esta idea o concepto de un pecado original, se elaboró en el siglo II. Desarrollado por el obispo Ireneo de Lyon (140- 202), en su controversia con algunos gnósticos dualistas, sumándose a esta elaboración inicial algunos otros padres eclesiásticos como Agustín de Hipona (354-430) quienes la justificaron según las enseñanzas del apóstol Pablo en los pasajes de Romanos 5:12–21 y 1 Corintios 15:21-22.

Sin embargo, esta doctrina del pecado original no es más que una extrapolación de la verdad, ya que las Escrituras dicen todo lo contrario, leamos:

Ezequiel 18:20. LBLA

"El alma que peque, esa morirá. El hijo no cargará con la iniquidad del padre, ni el padre cargará con la iniquidad del hijo; la justicia del justo será sobre él y la maldad del impío será sobre él"

En tal caso el pecado no es una herencia familiar de ninguna manera, sino que es el resultado de nuestra naturaleza material y humana. Somos pecadores por naturaleza, y el mal está en nosotros mismos como lo afirma igualmente Pablo en:

Romanos 7:

"21 Así que, queriendo yo hacer el bien, hallo esta ley: que el mal está en mí. 22 Porque según el hombre interior, me deleito en la ley de Dios; 23 pero veo otra ley en mis miembros, que se rebela contra la ley de mi mente, y que me lleva cautivo a la ley del pecado que está en mis miembros."

Cuando somos bautizados por el Espíritu Santo, entonces somos sellados por la Majestad y pasamos a tener una doble naturaleza igual que Cristo en la tierra. Una naturaleza pecaminosa y otra espiritual. Está naturaleza espiritual es la que afirma el pasaje como "hombre interior".

Así que Adán y Evan son una representación de cada uno de los seres humanos que han existido en todos los tiempos. Una representación del temor y la desdicha que produce el pecado en cada uno de nosotros. Eva representa nuestra carne, nuestra naturaleza terrenal, y nuestro pecado. Adán es nuestra naturaleza espiritual que se une a Dios, que escucha a Dios y quiere obedecerle, pero al final todo nuestro ser es afectado por el pecado una y otra vez, debido a que no tenemos el poder para cumplir la ley y entonces la muerte se enseñorea de todos nosotros como seres humanos.

Esta es la realidad profunda que está en nuestra conciencia. Nadie puede escapar al temor cuando se llevan a cabo actos que atentan contra las leyes de Dios. El pecado desnuda nuestra alma, y nos trae vergüenza. Por eso nadie quiere que se sepa nada acerca de sus malas obras, y prefiere esconderlas. Nadie quiere ser confrontado porque en el fondo de nuestro ser sabemos que estamos obrando mal. Nadie puede engañar a Dios, y esto nos aterra.

Gálatas 6:7 NBV

"No se engañen a sí mismos; nadie puede engañar a Dios; uno siempre recogerá lo que haya sembrado."

En este punto debemos comprender que esta naturaleza murió por la obra de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, y que debemos cuidar de esta salvación inigualable. Que el temor y la reverencia a nuestro Dios Todo Poderoso debe guiar nuestros corazones en cada evento y en cada momento, y entender que, si por alguna razón tropezamos, porque es imposible que no vengan los tropiezos, como lo afirma el mismo Señor en Lucas 17:1-2, tendremos que ir a sus pies arrepentidos, contristados y quebrantados y el Dios de Gloria no nos rechazará jamás sino que su misericordia nos cobijará y nos restaurará porque le pertenecemos.

Romanos 8 NTV

38 Y estoy convencido de que nada podrá jamás separarnos del amor de Dios. Ni la muerte ni la vida, ni ángeles ni demonios, ni nuestros temores de hoy ni nuestras preocupaciones de mañana. Ni siquiera los poderes del infierno pueden separarnos del amor de Dios. 39 ningún poder en las alturas ni en las profundidades, de hecho, nada en toda la creación podrá jamás separarnos del amor de Dios, que está revelado en Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor.

¿Deseas creer que Adán y Eva fueron reales y literalmente pisaron esta tierra? Puedes hacerlo, pero debes saber que tu pecado es el que te condena, no el de ellos, ni el de nadie. Tu eres responsable ante Dios por tus obras y por tu fe. No hay excusas ni culpas contra nadie.

OREMOS

Padre, oramos para tu Espíritu Santo obre en cada hijo tuyo en esta tierra, para que tu Santo Espíritu nos confronte y nos revele y nos convenza de pecado, de justicia y de juicio como dice tu Palabra (Juan 16:8-11) y así seamos enriquecidos en el conocimiento de la verdad y fortalecidos para buenas obras, amén.

ADAM AND EVE ARE ALL OF US

"Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, 'Where are you?' He said, 'I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.' And He said, 'Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?'" Genesis 3:9-11

ANALYSIS

This Biblical passage represents the process of sin in every human being. Beyond the debate of whether they existed or not, or whether it is an allegory or not, we must take the text and apply it practically and usefully to our lives.

We have wrongly believed that our sin is an inheritance from Adam and Eve, and we unconsciously use it as an absurd comfort and an excuse to blame others for our mistakes and failures, diverting our own responsibility. It is almost a religious conduct and sometimes hypocritical, because the truth is that Adam and Eve are all of us.

This idea or concept of original sin was developed in the 2nd century, primarily by Bishop Irenaeus of Lyons (140-202), in his controversy with some dualist Gnostics. This initial formulation was supported by other church fathers, such as Augustine of Hippo (354-430), who justified it based on the teachings of the Apostle Paul in the passages of Romans 5:12-21 and 1 Corinthians 15:21-22.

However, this doctrine of original sin is nothing more than an extrapolation of the truth, as the Scriptures say the opposite. Let us read:

Ezekiel 18:20, LBLA

"The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, nor the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him."

In this case, sin is not a family inheritance in any way, but rather the result of our material and human nature. We are sinners by nature, and evil is within us, as Paul also affirms in:

Romans 7:

"21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God's law; 23 but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members."

When we are baptized by the Holy Spirit, we are sealed by His Majesty, and we come to have a dual nature, just like Christ on earth. One sinful nature and one spiritual nature. This spiritual nature is what the passage refers to as the "inner man."

So, Adam and Eve are a representation of every human being who has ever existed in all times. A representation of the fear and misery that sin produces in each of us. Eve represents our flesh, our earthly nature, and our sin. Adam represents our spiritual nature, which unites with God, listens to God, and wants to obey Him, but in the end, all of our being is affected by sin over and over again, because we do not have the power to fulfill the law, and thus death reigns over all of us as human beings.

This is the profound reality in our conscience. No one can escape fear when actions that defy God's laws are carried out. Sin exposes our soul and brings us shame. That is why no one wants their wrongdoings to be known and prefers to hide them. No one wants to be confronted because deep down, we know we are doing wrong. No one can deceive God, and this terrifies us.

Galatians 6:7, NBV

"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

At this point, we must understand that this nature died through the work of our Lord Jesus Christ, and we must take care of this unparalleled salvation. The fear and reverence for our Almighty God must guide our hearts in every event and at every moment. We must understand that if for some reason we stumble—because it is impossible for stumbling blocks not to come, as the Lord Himself affirms in Luke 17:1-2—we must go to His feet repentant, sorrowful, and broken. The God of Glory will never reject us but will shelter us with His mercy and restore us, because we belong to Him.

Romans 8:38-39 (NTV)

"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Do you wish to believe that Adam and Eve were real and literally walked on this earth? You can do so, but you must know that your sin is what condemns you, not theirs, nor anyone else’s. You are responsible before God for your deeds and your faith. There are no excuses or blame to be placed on anyone.

LET US PRAY

Father, we pray that Your Holy Spirit works in every one of Your children on this earth, so that Your Holy Spirit confronts us, reveals to us, and convinces us of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, as Your Word says (John 16:8-11), so that we may be enriched in the knowledge of the truth and strengthened for good works. Amen.
