ASKING ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL

Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please God; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him

*REFLECTION*

Could you speak to someone who cannot see? If we speak to God without faith, it may seem that we are crazy, it may seem that we are crazy and sick. It would be like speaking to the wind. That is why Scripture tells us that we must *believe* that He will be listening to us. How are we going to please God if we are praying without expecting anything in return?

*Hope* is one of the two elements that make up faith. We must hope that when we begin our prayer and petition, there is someone listening, and that someone will bless us;  We know that it is God who does it, who listens to us because we have the *conviction* and the revealed Biblical knowledge. *Hope plus conviction; that is faith.*

So when we pray to God we must take into account two elements: first *faith* and second that our request is *in accordance with the will of God.*

And what is the will of God? According to Ephesians 1:9-10, God proposed to reunite at the end of time, all things, his chosen ones and all his people in his Beloved Son. Jesus Christ is the will of God for the universe, he is the supreme end, he is the meaning of our existence.

So when we go to ask something from our Heavenly Father, it must be in accordance with the words and revelation of Jesus Christ. If you are asking for something selfish and full of vanity, you must forget it once and for all, that God will grant it to you.

Remember that all your requests must honor the will of God, that is, his Son himself.  If your requests are full of selfishness, vainglory, vanity, and even wickedness, God will never grant it.

The Word says that our heart is wicked above all things! (Jeremiah 17:9), because it is the center of our very nature; a corrupt and fallen nature. So you must distrust yourself regarding what you ask God for and examine your heart. God can help you with this examination as stated in

Psalm 139:23-24.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts. 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

My brothers, God is our Father to us his people. We have been born of his Holy Spirit, and we are sealed by him. (John 3:5-8, Ephesians 4:30, 2 Corinthians 1:22).  And we are saved and heirs of His promises according to Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:

21 And He who establishes us with you in Christ, and He who anointed us, is God, 22 who has also *sealed* us, and has given us the *earnest Spirit* in our hearts.

If we are His children, we are heirs of all His Glory, Grace and Mercy.

Let us be confident in every situation, circumstance and at all times. Let us ask Him for all things according to His will and worship Him with all our heart and He will guard our lives, family, and even our own home.

LET US PRAY!

Lord, we pray to you to teach us to think, speak and act according to Your will. Guard our hearts from that which opposes Your truth. We carry Your Son so that we can see His Glory and be healed. We trust in You Father and we are satisfied in Your All Powerful Hand. Amen!
